If you want to know what character best suits the way you play, then use the link below to download an MS Excel spreadsheet.Either click on the link or, depending on Browser settings, right-click on the link and select Save Target As... and choose the directory you wish to save the file to.This is a very simple spreadsheet with basic macros that will need to be enabled. To enable macros in Excel select Tools menu and then Options.... Select the Security tab and click the Macro Security... button. Select Medium on the Security Level tab. How to use the fileThe spreadsheet has 10 tabs - a full Character List and the 9 Character Classes. Select each Class and enter a number ranging from 1-5 in the white cells that indicates the level of importance that attribute has for that Class - 1 being the lowest importance and 5 the highest. You can use the same number more than once, but it will give a more accurate and definitive result if you use the full range of 1-5. The values you enter will then be multiplied by the natural ability of the class depending on their race; this will give an overall score to that class and race.Click the Generate macro button to sort the list into ascending order. It will show which is the best Race to be for the Class, based on what you personally think are the best attributes. When all the Classes have been generated, click the Generate macro button on the Character List tab; the best Class to be for the Race will be displayed split into Alliance and Horde. A full list of characters will also show the overall scores for all Class and Race combinations. |
